Laura Callegaro: Contemporary Art Curator and Archivist

Laura Callegaro is a London based Curator and Archivist. She is currently participating in the international curatorial programme CuratorLab at Konstfack.

Her curatorial research investigates the use and contextualisation of language, its aesthetic, performative aspects, and its potential forms of resistance in the neoliberal scenarios of today.

She is particularly interested in the creation of inclusive and safe communities through site-specific interventions, performative and sound practices; whilst amplifying intersectional feminist and anti-capitalist perspectives. She also co-founded trans-curatorial, a collective that establishes a framework for critical thinking, research, and exhibition-making.

In parallel, through her archival practice, Laura develops research related to subjects such as decoloniality, diversity, gender and ecological matters working with contemporary artists and their estates.

Since 2015, she has worked within international art institutions: as Programme Manager at The Koppel Project (London, UK), Performer, Artist’s Assistant and Cultural Mediator at the Venice Biennale (Venice, IT), Assistant Curator in galleries such as Chelsea Space, Flat Time House (London, UK), and A plus A Gallery (Venice, IT).
